Responsible Hospitality Edmonton

Responsible Hospitality Edmonton (RHE) is the name of the formal structure the City of Edmonton, in association with many interest groups, established to address how we can plan, manage and police vibrant places throughout the city where people can socialize in safety and comfort.

The basis of RHE is that no stakeholder (safety and regulatory organizations, hospitality industry, residential communities, and development organizations) acting individually can plan, manage and police public/private spaces in a manner that will allow them to function in a way that contributes positively to the life of the entire City.

The City of Edmonton has worked hard to capitalize on opportunities and its heritage. Central to this goal is a sincere recognition of the value of the hospitality industry (arts, dining, entertainment and events) as a core economic engine for all other sectors in the city's economy and growth.
