The PSCT is a strong supporter of CPTED and the strategies that help reduce crime, disorder and community related problems through four simple and cost efficient strategies: 1. Natural Surveillance; 2. Territorial Reinforcement; 3. Natural Access Control; and 4. Target Hardening. Presented along with each of these CPTED strategies are guidelines which, as a business owner you can apply to reduce the fear and incidence of crime and improve the quality of life. Clean, well managed and well maintained properties add value to the community and are less likely to be the targets of crime and associated problems.

Best Practices for Nightlife Establishments - The New York Police Department together with the New York Nightlife Association developed these guidelines as suggested ways to assist nightlife owners in maintaining safe bars, lounges and clubs free from illegal activity including: drug sales, underage drinking, over consumption of alcohol, violence, prostitution and sex offenses.
