Jasper Avenue Entertainment Working Group

In April 2010, City Council approved an opportunity to further shape the future of the night time economy in Edmonton, specifically the Jasper Avenue area.

The Jasper Avenue Entertainment Working Group will focus on issues regarding Jasper Avenue night time entertainment districts with the goal of creating a comprehensive strategy to ensure Edmonton maintains a vibrant area that balances the needs of local businesses, residents, visitors, and night time entertainment patrons.

The objective of the group is to clearly identify issues, develop solutions, and make recommendations that support and nurture the safety, sustainability and vibrancy of the night time economy, with the focus on Jasper Avenue.

Resources are in place to gather stakeholder/community input and conduct the research that is required by the Working Group.

Our Survey Results

This survey was conducted to understand peoples' perceptions and identify possible changes to improve Downtown's nightlife experience, particularly on Jasper Avenue, for patrons. visitors, residents, daytime businesses, the hospitality industry and support services.

This information along with other stakeholder input will be used by the Jasper Avenue Entertainment working group to prepare recommendations as requested by City Council.
